CSP Solution Brief

Microsoft 365

Licensing, migration and managed support

Exchange Server 2016/2019 and Windows 10 went out of support on 14 October 2025. SharePoint Server 2016/2019 followed on 14 July 2026. Office 2021 and Office LTSC 2021 reach end of support on 13 October 2026, and Windows Server 2016 on 12 January 2027. Each date is a decision about where that workload runs next, and each one has a Microsoft 365 answer. The work is choosing the right plan and moving without breaking the business.

What AIM does

Assess, move, and stay running.

Assess

We inventory tenants, mailboxes, servers and assigned licences against what is actually in use, then price the options side by side.

Done looks like: One table showing current spend, correct spend and the gap.

Move

Migration of mail, files and identity, with a security baseline configured as we go rather than bolted on afterwards.

Done looks like: Users working, MFA and Conditional Access enforced, old servers decommissioned.

Run

Managed application and technology services with L1, L2 and L3 support, patching, monitoring and a named service owner.

Done looks like: A monthly report, a service desk that answers, and no surprise renewals.

Worth knowing

The 300-seat ceiling is enforced

Microsoft caps the Business family at 300 provisioned seats across Basic, Standard and Premium combined, and states that it reserves the right to enforce that limit. An organization sitting at 250 Business Premium seats has 50 left across the whole family. Growing past it is an E3 or E5 conversation, and it costs less to plan it than to hit it.
